Each year we create a directory of approved adventurous activity providers. Used by The City of Edinburgh Council, CEC, groups only. It streamlines the excursion approval process and removes the need for each CEC group to send detailed risk assessments for each approved activity. CEC groups must check the approved activities carefully. CEC groups must liaise with approved providers to ensure their approved activities, and risk assessments are adapted with reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of all participants.  

Day visits to approved providers are category 3 excursions, except for trampoline parks, which are category 4. Any residential excursions involving an approved provider are category 4. Providers must complete an application and tell us about how they work, their safety procedures, insurance cover, adventure activities licensing if appropriate and staff qualifications.
