COWALFEST
This well established, annual walking and outdoor Festival is one of the most extensive and most varied in Scotland. Led by experienced and knowledgeable guides, they offer rewarding and exciting walks and events catering to all ages and abilities. Also, they have walks/talks covering a variety of interests, such as bird watching, heritage, geology, photography, and guided tours of Benmore Botanical Gardens.
ARGYLLSHIRE GATHERING
The Argyllshire Gathering was started in 1871 when several landowners and families of Argyll decided they should get together annually to socialise and to compete against each other. It was the forerunner of Highland Games as we know them today. Since then, the association has developed and is made up of members who have a strong connection with Argyll and are keen to promote Argyll both locally and on the broader world. An annual ball and dance is amongst other social gatherings and dinners throughout the year.
A TASTE OF LOCH FYNE
A gastronomic delight and a sensory feast await visitors to A Taste of Loch Fyne. Nestled within spectacular scenery, breath-taking mountains, stunning woodlands and the magnificent natural beauty of Loch Fyne, the food matches the landscape. The day commences with a tour of the first Oyster and Mussel Farm, established in the 1970s. Learn about the skilled jobs of oyster farming and mussel rearing from the experts and choose your oysters.
TARBERT MUSIC FESTIVAL
Tarbert is a genuinely enchanting fishing village situated on the West Coast of Scotland. Not only is there a thriving fishing industry but also energy created by a developing tourist trade centred around Tarbert’s harbour. Some festivals throughout the year are arranged to welcome visitors.
